Welcome

A saying I heard recently is sticking in my mind: the days are long, but the years are short. Since so many of our friends and family are far away, I thought I'd start this blog to let everyone in on our daily lives, and as a place to show photos and videos of our quickly-changing children.

Today we are getting our first snowfall of the season in southeastern Minnesota. We took the kids across the street to sled down our neighbors' backyard hill. It was Susanna's first sledding, and she did quite well, with Gus sitting behind her and holding on. It's pretty wet and sloppy, so we're staying in the house now, going through the kids' extensive book collections and digging out all the winter stuff. Stay warm, and stop back soon.

  1. Yay! A blog! It's not quite a talk show, but it's a start ... consider me the #1 fan of the Miller/Beaton Memo (and the Miller/Beaton family).

  2. Hmmm, that's funny ... I guess my Latin is a little rusty, but I thought that motto translated to, "Screw the itinerary -- where's the nearest pub?"

  4. I like the motto! Might I suggest a theme song from one of my favorite bands? "Scenic Routes" the title cut from the Lost Dogs 1992 debut album. It makes my whole family jump around and shake booty.
    Love from the Jaegers,

Kathleen, thanks for the tip. We should probably have a family soundtrack as well...I'm going to start working on that!
